INTRODUCTION TO MASKS
Create a mask and a subsequent composite graphic using one of the two masking techniques covered in your Lesson 7 (One on One) masking tutorials.
Mask Requirement:
1.
Select a an image of your choice to practise making a mask using one of the masking techniques covered in your text tutorials. You will find that masking techniques vary from photograph to photograph, so try different photos if need be. Pick a figure, or an object to mask that doesn't have too much background detail and is a bold shape.
IMPORTANT:
It is more important for you to experiment with the concepts than perfect a mask at this stage. Masking skills take time to develop, and we will continue to work on them over the next few weeks. Do not panic, just practice and keep moving forward in your lesson!
2.
Send me the psd file (72 dpi), so I can see the mask you created.
3.
Composite the above mask/selection on a background graphic. Finish the graphic utilizing techniques and tools covered in the past four lessons.
4.
Send me a jpeg file of the final composite graphic: meaning the masked graphic composited on a background,
SEND TWO GRAPHIC FILES:
You will email me one psd file demonstrating your mask, and one jpeg file demonstrating the final composited graphic.
In the subject field of the e-mail put your last name and first initial with the number of the assignment.
